The Journey to the Perfect Smile

The Journey to the Perfect Smile<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>

Teeth whitening has been around for quite a long long, long time. In fact the ancient Egyptians began whitening their teeth around 4000 years ago with the help of a paste formed from ground pumice stone and vinegar. The Ancient Romans took it a step further whitening their teeth mixing urine with goats milk. I’m not sure any of the team here would have stuck any hands up to claim that break through any time.

Over the last 4000 years things have progressed in the world of teeth whitening quite considerably. One constant however, now like then the desire to have a set of perfect pearly whites is as popular as ever.

So here we are the year is 2021, I think we can all agree it hasn’t been a time where we can freely get around and interact on the same level we once did. Advances in medicine, technology and human resilience though, are all helping us all on our journey to a more connected world once more. When the time comes to reveal the smiles we have been safely hiding away,  we want to be able to say, “Hello World” with confidence.

What is PAP?

Phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid, or PAP is a synthetic organic peroxy acid derived from caproic acid and phthalimide. The compound is mainly used as bleaching activator and is the latest in proven non abrasive teeth whitening technology. The addition of a LED light works alongside our PAP tooth-whitening agent. The light will not change the colour of your teeth if used alone. However, it does act as a catalyst to speed up the reactions in the whitening process when combined with PAP.

Tests carried out as described in the “Journal of Applied Oral Science” conclude;  Results from a test group of Forty volunteers (15 men and 25 women) with a mean age of 35.1±14.5 years using PAP as the bleaching agent found, 39% of the examined teeth had a shade improvement of four shade values immediately after treatment, 17% had an improvement of three shades, and 3% had an improvement of seven shades.
